We are starting a new print community newsletter for and by LGBTQ+ and/or Neurodivergent folk in Fife. We’re open to all sorts of content, but we are imagining including: info about upcoming events, recommendations, personal ads, longer features, comics, crosswords, puzzles, horoscopes, regular columns eg. an advice column.

You can get involved by:
- Submitting content (see submissions below)
- Layout and prep for risoprinting (in-person in the Print Coop, Kirkcaldy)
- Joining editorial meetings for upcoming issues (on zoom).
We are planning to produce an issue every 6 weeks, but this might change as we get into the swing of things, or if capacity changes!
Submissions
Submissions are open for Issue #1 of PenPals Press.
Submit by emailing hello@penpals.site with the Subject Heading: PenPals Press
Deadline: 27/07/2026
Short text submissions might be:
- personal ads (looking for something?)
- short texts (had a thought you want to share? think of this like old school twitter)
- events listings (want to share something coming up?)
- venue recommendations (been somewhere good in Fife recently?)
- other recommendations (read something interesting? listened to something? eaten something?)
Longer text pieces might be: short fiction, articles, commentary – please bear in mind we can’t print anything super long. Get in touch if it’s more than 500 words.
We’re super keen to include your images!
Images might be: cartoons, photographs, drawings – we’re printing on a riso which has a very distinctive look, any questions email hello@penpals.site
